B&B - Apartments self catering ***

For wonderful holidays in Selva Gardena/Dolomites!

Towards the end of the sixties, Max and Maria Demetz, the owners of the house, opted for a new home. The selected
property had previously belonged to the mountain farm Pinzigher. The placewas very suitable for living, because it was
far away from noise and traffic, and also in a beautiful location in the middle of the nature.

It also seemed that renting apartments could become a branch of trade, because Val Gardena was visited by more
and more tourists. The at first planned tailor workshop on the ground floor was therefore re-planned as apartment.
"Die Forelle" by Franz Schubert inspired for the house name.

At Christmas in 1969, it was finally time: the family Demetz could move in the new house. In addition, the apartment
had been rented for the first time. After Christmas, the apartment was only more rented in February,namely to
photographers who were in Val Gardena on the occasion of the World Ski Championships.

This event led to the breakthrough in tourism of Val Gardena. That the tourist requests were growing was noticed from
Maria, too. So, sometimes were also let rooms of the private apartment, as was common in the valley at that time.
In 1973, the family Demetz decided to fit out the attic in an apartment. Finally, a free space on the ground floor
was converted into a kitchen/living room and connected to a preexisting bedroom, so that the house
had three apartments
to let.

Max, a lover of flowers, created a garden with a lot of native species and gave attention to the exterior. Maria, now 82
years old, continues renting the apartments . The son Guido is more and more involved in the activity .A special hobby of
Max and Mary s represented by paintings, to which they have also dedicated themselves. Because of that, the house is
decorated with paintings and with objects of the local arts and crafts

The family Demetz is finally open and friendly towards the guests, so that the guests are in general very happy
with the hospitality, and various of them come back from year to year, and a family even since more than
fourty years!
